The following slide shows are an overview of Public Housing in New Orleans. They juxtapose the massive amounts of empty land that exists where once stood public housing meanwhile tent cities currently exist under threat (some having already been forcibly removed).
Here we can clearly see that HANO and HUD's plans to demolish the sites of Lafitte, St. Bernard, CJ Peete, and BW Cooper, comes at a time when:
- housing is of a vital necessity in the city of New Orleans and
- there is plenty of vacant land, that is already allotted for public housing available for building and development, RIGHT NOW.
