Additional organizations have endorsed the Gulf Coast Housing Recovery Act of 2007 (S.1668), which would provide that no demolition shall occur until HUD devises a plan to replace all of the units that would be demolished.

Update 1/11 - NEW ORLEANS AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND PUBLIC HOUSING STRUGGLE UPDATE Bill Quigley

Update 12/21 - Tents, blankets and personal possesions were removed from Duncan Plaza forcing homeless there to vacate.

Update 12/20 - Public Housing residents and affordable housing advocates were forcibly locked out of the New Orleans City Council proceedings.

Update 12/17 - Thank you to our allies from the Coalition.

Update 12/15 - Several people were arrested in the street at St. Bernard during a peaceful protest and second line.

Update 12/14/07 - "Home for the Holidays" Action in front of the HANO office.

Update 12/14/07 - The City of New Orleans historic district denied the demolition application of the housing authority for the Lafitte housing development.
